Afterpants: Afterlives (Afterlife Express)
Today's afterlife trope is "Afterlife Express;" the possibility that there is a train available to take you to your final destination in the underworld.
This trope was previously expressed as a ship but there are plenty of stories about such things from "Spirited Away" to "Harry Potter"
Personally, I believe in various parts of the underworld. Some could conceivably be connected through "afterlife geography" (hey...I should do one on this topic too)
and some sort of conveyance might be necessary.
If for no other reason than it helps the dead understand what's happening in the underworld environment.
Basically it's like a metaphor for being taken to or away from their current position and if they just sort of appeared wherever they're going next it might be frightening or create a moment of insanity...so...ghost train...I see now...
Anyway, since I believe in multiple afterlives and spectro-geography, then a way to navigate that geography seems likely: Probably true.
