Afterpants: Afterlives (Afterlife Welcome)

Today's underworld trope is "Afterlife Welcome"

This is the idea that, when you die, you'll be greeted by your granny making heaven cookies or whatever. Now, while this plays well on camera and many cultures have beliefs in this direction I can tell you I have it on pretty good authority that this is NOT the case.

Your afterlife journey is meant to be a solitary one. You will not be seeing your childhood pet or that friend who died in 5th grade.

The afterlife does have supernatural creatures, many of whom are dangerous, others of whom are willing to point you in the right direction but as far as the dead, they are, for the most part, alone.
