Afterpants: Afterlives (Otherworld Backup)

Today's afterlife trope is "Backup from the other world" This is the idea that a character in a story receives direct assistance from someone/s who are dead.

Normally, this is a battle situation but it could be anything.

Many cultures believe that the dead are watching and are willing to provide assistance. In Asia, of course, there is a long standing tradition of burning "ghost money" or "hell money" for the ancestors so they will in turn provide wealth to the living.

The idea that the dead can 'return' or provide assistance (long distance) from the underworld is not new and it definitely has spiritual merit. Therefore it is:
