Afterpants: Undemons #2 Apep

Todays Undemon is Apep! Giant serpent, enemy of the Sun god Ra and quite possibly earliest of the creator deities.

See, here's my thing...a lot has been said about this guy but it's basically all from a Western, Christian informed context. Lot's of cultures have giant snakes in their cosmology but

they aren't all 'bad' Western people view the snake as representative of "evil" but personally, I disagree. I think snakes are awesome! They provide a valuable service in nature and they're quite beautiful!

Apep, btw, is made of 2 hieroglyphs for "worm" ...basically 'worm worm' indicating importance of size and place. Apep is also a underworld creature but I feel he's one that gets bad press.

Offering: 2 giant mice, incense and uhmmm...well, as he has no legs he probably doesn't need underwear but just in case he decides to take on a more anthro form, we'll offer him 3 pairs of gold boxer briefs!
